Established in 1999, CFSA is the cash advance industry's national trade association. Their mission is to promote laws and regulations that provide cash advance customers with substantive consumer protections while preserving their access to short-term credit options and to support and encourage responsible industry practices.

CFSA members believe that cash advances should be conducted in a safe and responsible manner and with appropriate consumer protections. A set of Best Practices standards were adopted in January 2000 to help ensure such conduct and self-govern the industry, which have been revised to address the partnering of cash advance companies with federally insured financial institutions. In 2004, CFSA also adopted a Military Best Practices that gives some extra protection to our military customers.
